Kent Business Summit
Kent companies are facing some uncertainty as the UK prepares to leave the UK. What will the real impacts be on the UK economy and its businesses? The Kent Business Summit is an initiative brought together by the Kent Business School (KBS) in partnership with the Institute of Directors (IOD) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
The summit will be focussed on ‘shaping Kent’s future in a global economy’, preparing for the UK’s exit from the European Union. Welcoming small and medium sized (SMEs) businesses across all business sectors.
The half day schedule will include roundtable discussions with national and international speakers, chaired by Louise Stewart (former political editor for BBC Southeast and current Head of Communications for the FSB). As well as speakers on the following topics:
- The future is Kent: Strategic vision for the Kent economy (David Smith, Director of Economic Development, Kent County Council)
- Disruption and innovation: Staying ahead of the game (Jane Ollis, Chairman IOD Kent/BD Manager, Quvium)
- Increasing productivity against all odds: an NHS perspective (Jane Ely, Chief Operating Office for East Kent Hospitals Trust)
- Case study Greece: How to build resilience in uncertain times International speaker (Vagelis Gizelis, MD Gizelis S.A.)
The summit provides an opportunity for Kent business owners, directors, local MPs and academics to share their thoughts and ideas on how Kent’s international trade will be sustainable in the future.
