Two inspiring Kent companies have been announced as winners of the 2020 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise!
Nim’s Fruit Crisps won an award for Innovation and Priority Freight received an award for International Trade. Exporting has played an important part in the growth and success of both companies.
Nim’s Fruit Crisps is based in Sittingbourne and produces an exciting range of healthy air-dried fruit and vegetable crisps which it sells in British supermarkets and to a range of overseas customers. The company recently launched a new range of edible teas. We’ve had the privilege of taking members of the Nim’s team to international trade shows and networking events through the ISE Project and there has always been huge interest in the innovative range of healthy products. Well done to the team for their creativity and hard work!
Dover-based Priority Freight specialises time-critical freight and logistics and works in particular with the automotive and aerospace sectors. It ships everything from small components to fragile prototype parts and large volume shipments. Over 70% of the company’s turnover now comes from overseas sales rising from £8m to £56m in just six years! The company’s specialism in contingency logistics is now providing valuable assistance to getting PPE supplies to the UK. Well done to the team for its hard work and well-deserved recognition!
