Selling Whisky to the US – how DIT’s Internationalisation Fund can help your business too…

OSA Fine Spirits is the designer, brand owner, bottler and distributor of premium and distinctive alcohol brands which it is now successfully selling into the US having accessed some financial assistance from the Department for International Trade’s Internationalisation co-investment fund.

The company is based near Borough Green and currently has 50% of its turnover linked to exports.

The company has successfully exported to markets as diverse as China and Japan with an on-line presence with Amazon and other e-markets.

The company recently targeted the US as it identified that its products were very suitable for the market. OSA Spirits took advantage of the DIT co-funding to focus on market research activity to ensure that its trade marks were protected and its labelling requirements were met. The funding also helped with identifying the right local distributors.

Whilst the company is an experienced exporter, it made use of the DIT co-investment to boost its international sales by overcoming some of the complex compliance regulations for the US market. The fund is still open for applications and there are webinars taking place on 29 June where you can find out more.
